Here is your weekly prompt to do some good this week. You’ll find a few ideas down below.

The Cooperative Ministry exists to increase the economic self-sufficiency of people experiencing poverty in the Midlands through crisis assistance and sustainability programs. They build bridges to tomorrow by meeting immediate needs and teaching skills and providing resources for long-term independence and stability. Volunteer opportunities include a client interviewer (someone who helps direct individuals to resources/proper services), a receptionist, a tax preparer, a clothing sorter, an administrative/clerical volunteer, and prayer partners. You can read more and sign up to volunteer here: https://www.coopmin.org/volunteer.

Mutual Aid Midlands is launching a new project! Food for Thought: A Literary/Social Justice Partnership. The goal is simple: to celebrate literary arts and feed people. The prompt is "what does food mean to you?" They are asking for submissions about food - wherever it takes you. Poetry, fiction, and essays are welcome. Share your heart! With your submission, donations of any amount to address hunger in the Midlands are deeply appreciated. 100% of donations to MAM are used to feed our neighbors struggling with food insecurity. Chosen literary submissions will be shared on their website and social media and will eventually be made into a book. Learn more about the project here: https://www.facebook.com/MutualAidColumbiaSC/.

This week is National Library Week! Not only do libraries provide us with books to read, but they offer valuable tools and resources. Libraries are continually changing to meet the demands of today’s technology and ever-expanding volumes of knowledge. Take a moment this week and thank a librarian, learn more about what they do, visit your local library, and support a library fundraiser. You can learn more about Library Week and how to support local libraries here: https://bit.ly/3DCMt9X.
