Circle Of Welcome

The Circle of Welcome team is welcoming their first refugee family moving into their new apartment next week! We are thrilled to be sponsoring a family that will need continuous support as they adapt to life in the United States. If you were at church yesterday, you may have grabbed an egg from the basket. In that egg is a slip that lists an item or two that is needed to furnish the family's new home. This is just a reminder to purchase that item this week and bring it to Easter service on Sunday. There will be a collection station on your way into the service and someone from the Circle of Welcome team will collect the items from you. Thanks for your support on this initiative!

Founded as the SC Therapeutic Association in 1962 by a Methodist Minister, the Reverend Eli Alston Wilkes, the Alston Wilkes Society’s (AWS) original mission was to provide rehabilitative services to adults released from correctional facilities in South Carolina. Over the years this mission has expanded to serve those returning from state and federal institutions, at-risk youth, veterans and their families, and those experiencing homelessness in our community. AWS is currently looking for individuals who are willing to serve on their Advisory Council and/or their Community Relations Council. You can learn more about those opportunities and apply here: https://www.alstonwilkessociety.org/volunteer/.
