Jesus wept over Jerusalem because they didn’t recognize the things that make for peace. If Jesus were to look at our world, our country, or even our own lives today, what might he say about the ways we pursue peace—or fail to?

The crowd chose Barabbas, a fighter, over Jesus, the Prince of Peace. In what ways are we still tempted to believe that power, force, or retribution will bring the change we want to see? How does Jesus challenge that mindset?

Pastor Nick described God’s judgment not as an act of divine punishment, but as God letting us have what we think we want. Can you think of examples—personally or in history—where humanity’s pursuit of power, revenge, or violence led to destruction? How does this change the way you think about God’s wrath?

 Jesus envisioned his followers as a house built on a rock, offering shelter from the storm. In what ways do you see the church living into that calling today? Where do we still have work to do?
