Lowcountry Orphan Relief

Here are some opportunities for you to jump in with some great organizations and do some good this week.

Lowcountry Orphan Relief (LOR) is a non-profit organization that provides goods and services to children who have been abused or neglected. LOR works directly with other non-profits, schools, foster parents, and government agencies to identify the individual needs of these and other children in severe situations. LOR intervenes at critical junctures in the lives of these children, with products and services that provide a strong, positive impact. The organization now has a distribution center in Columbia! They are in need of children's clothing (ages 0-18), children's books, shoes, stuffed animals, and hygiene supplies. Please bring those things to the church during the month of March and place them in the blue bin by the Connect Table.

The Nehemiah Action Assembly with MORE Justice will be held on Monday, April 4th at 6:30pm in the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. During this event, the network of churches addresses systemic justice issues facing the Midlands and identifies ways to find solutions. If you are interested in being a part of the Emmaus group that attends this event, please reach out to Dylan by March 21st. More details to come!

Local animal shelters are in need of dog food, cat food, and cleaning supplies. Consider picking up an extra bag of food when you pick up food for your fur baby or create a care package of cleaning supplies and drop it off. Just google the closest animal shelter to you because they all have a need right now!
