In preparation for our Family Mission Day at the end of July, we are holding a food drive at church on Sunday, July 24th. We'll have boxes available in the lobby to collect donations. Items needed include pasta, pasta dinners, rice dinners, peanut butter, jelly, crackers, granola bars, and protein bars. All of these items will go to benefit Sharing Gods Love, the partner agency we are supporting for Family Mission Day. Please begin collecting these items and bring them on July 24th to the River Center!

The Rainy Day Fund works to eliminate barriers to housing/employment by assisting those who are legal system involved (or at risk) with costs associated with obtaining work, securing identification, restoration of rights, court costs, basic care, and other physical needs. It is an all-volunteer, woman-run organization that is helping people get out of situations that can usually be exacerbated by a financial need that can't be met. Learn more about the organization and give a donation here: https://rainydayfundsc.org/.

Do something unique this week and let us know what you did! Take a grocery bag to pick up litter in your neighborhood as you walk the dog. Bake something for the neighbors or someone in your community. Offer your time to that individual who is overwhelmed and could just use a helping hand or a break with the kids. Research a new social justice initiative and how you can get involved. Purge closets and donate to a thrift store that helps recovery ministries. The possibilities are endless! Just do something unique and meaningful, then let us know what you did on the Emmaus Community Page. Let's spark some creativity around generosity!
