DO GOOD DAY PROJECTS

Home Works (6) - this group will repair a home for a senior living on fixed income in our community. Tasks could include painting, roofing, building a ramp, minor repairs to the home, etc. You will have a site lead so no experience is required, but please let us know if you do have the experience to help lead! Project location will most likely be in Columbia, with the possibility of Lexington (we will let you know as soon as we know). This project is intended for people over the age of 12.

Harriet Hancock Center (6) - this group will help update and beautify the Midlands’ LGBTQ resource center by repairing parts of the home, installing shelving, landscaping, and more. You will have a site lead so no experience is required, but please let us know if you do have the experience to help lead! Project location is in downtown Columbia. This project is intended for people over the age of 12.

Mission Lexington (8) - this group will build and create garden beds that will be used by the staff and families served at Mission Lexington. This group will also cut back the overgrowth behind the facility and help tidy up the grounds. Project location is in Lexington. This project is intended for people over the age of 12.

Midlands Orphan Relief (8) - this group will pack bags for children transitioning into and through foster care, sort the packing room of the facility, and pack bookbags for back to school. Project location is in West Columbia. This project is intended for people ages 10 and up.

Power in Changing (6) - this group will help wrap, package, and stock around 4,000 diapers for families in need across the Midlands. This is also the organization’s newest location, so we will be helping them transition to serving even more of the community! Project location is in Cayce. This project is intended for people ages 10 and up.

Litter Sweep (12) - this group will go out to Archer’s Lake in Irmo to pick up litter and beautify our nearby neighborhoods. Project location is in Irmo and is not near a major road with heavy traffic. This project is intended for people ages 10 and up.

Sharing Gods Love (40) - this service opportunity benefits multiple organizations at once. For Sharing God's Love, participants will assist with accepting donations and sorting them at the facility; repackaging grits, rice, sugar, and flour; and packing birthday bags. There will also be stations available for participants to write cards for Mission Lexington's mobile food pantry, and repackage dog food and socks for Mission Lexington, as well. For Ronald McDonald House, participants will create breakfast bags and joy jars. All materials and instruction will be provided. This project is open to all ages, even the kiddos (as long as they are accompanied by an adult at all times)!
